Get to Know Me

I’m Antonio Ferreira da Silva Neto, known by most athletes as Coach Toni. I’m 47 years old, born and raised in Mogi das Cruzes, São Paulo – Brazil, and I’ve dedicated my entire life to sports, performance, and the pursuit of human potential.

Academic Background & Certifications

I hold a degree in Physical Education and a post‑graduate specialization in Exercise Physiology. Over the years, I’ve continued to expand my knowledge through some of the most respected coaching programs in the world:

  • Ironman University Certified Coach

  • USA Triathlon Coach – Level 1 & Level 2, Youth & Junior, and Race Director

  • USA Cycling Coach – Level 3, Level 2 & Level 1

  • XTERRA Certified Coach

  • TrainingPeaks University – Level 1

These certifications reflect my commitment to science‑based training and athlete‑centered coaching.

A Life in Triathlon

I’ve been a triathlete since 1997 and a triathlon coach since 2000. My first triathlon was on April 13th, 1997, marking the beginning of a journey that now spans 30 years of training and racing.

Sports have always been part of my life. Thanks to my mother, who was a teacher, I studied at an excellent private school where I was introduced to soccer, volleyball, and basketball — and even played basketball competitively for five years. I also practiced judo as a child, and as a teenager I discovered equestrian sports, swimming, and biathlon. I’ve always been drawn to sports that connect me with nature, a passion that continues to guide my athletic and coaching life.

World‑Class Achievements

I am proud to have represented athletes and my country on the world stage:

  • 2024 Long Distance Triathlon World Champion – Townsville, Australia

  • 3× Silver Medalist at the ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championship (2017, 2018, 2019)

  • 19× Finisher of the IRONMAN World Championship, with 3 podium finishes

  • 10× Finisher of the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, also with 3 podium finishes

These experiences shaped not only my athletic career but also my coaching philosophy.

Coaching Philosophy

I love training, I love nature, and I love helping people discover what they’re capable of. Being an endurance coach allows me to share my passion and guide athletes toward their dreams with knowledge, respect, and purpose.

Since the beginning of my triathlon journey, I’ve been fortunate to receive unwavering support from family and friends — something I strive to pass forward to every athlete I coach.

As an athlete, I continue to compete at a high level. As a coach, I remain committed to guiding my athletes with integrity, science, and heart.

My Message to You

Whatever you choose to do in life, do it with love, passion, respect, and knowledge. Use sport as a way to learn about yourself, connect with nature, and grow as a human being.

— Coach Toni
